Gelsenkirchen Traffic Accident: 26-Year-Old Man Hospitalized
A traffic accident involving two vehicles occurred at the intersection of Vom-Stein-Straße/Erlestraße in Gelsenkirchen-Buer on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at around 1 pm. The accident resulted in the hospitalization of a 26-year-old man due to the severity of his injuries.
According to the police, the accident involved two men, a 79-year-old and a 26-year-old, both residents of Gelsenkirchen. The 79-year-old man was driving towards Ostring, while the 26-year-old man was heading towards Berger See.
The 79-year-old man, who was driving on Vom-Stein-Straße towards Ostring, collided with the 26-year-old's vehicle, causing the latter to sustain more severe injuries. The 79-year-old man, however, only sustained minor injuries.
Both men were taken to hospitals after receiving initial treatment at the scene. The 26-year-old man was hospitalized due to the severity of his injuries, but his life was not in danger. The intersection of Vom-Stein-Straße/Erlestraße was closed to traffic during the investigation.
The police are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the traffic accident. They are urging any witnesses to come forward with any information that could help in their investigation.
