Adjustments for Perfect Stitching: Sewing Pattern Modifications
Simply Sewing Magazine Corrects Pattern Errors
In a move to ensure seamstresses have the best sewing experience, Simply Sewing magazine has announced corrections for several projects featured in recent issues. Here's a breakdown of the pattern corrections as of July 2025:
Sew Over It Tulip Skirt (Issue 5)
A slight oversight in the size chart of the Sew Over It Tulip Skirt, found only in the print edition, has been rectified. The correct size chart is available for download on the magazine's website. This error occurred during printing and is unrelated to Lisa Comfort, the designer of the Sewalong.
The Shirt Dress (Issue 8)
The pattern sheet for The Shirt Dress was incomplete, missing a crucial pattern piece. Additionally, sewists should cut 2 collar and band pieces on the fold, rather than 1 as originally stated. An additional button extension piece can be downloaded online, and the missing pattern piece is also available.
The Cat Cape (Issue 9)
The hood template in The Cat Cape was not to scale. It should be increased by 140%, or sewists can download a corrected 100% scale template online.
The Milan Dress (Issue 121)
The front and back bodice pieces of The Milan Dress were mislabeled on the pattern. Corrected pattern pieces are downloadable to fix the issue.
The Simone Blouse (Issue 136)
Both the front and back bodice pieces of The Simone Blouse are incorrect. Corrected Simone Blouse bodice piece 1 and 2 are available for download.
The Ultimate Dungarees (Issue 125)
Buttonhole placements for The Ultimate Dungarees are missing on the pattern sheet. These can be found in provided images.
The Bailey Hoodie (Issue 130)
The pattern instructions for The Bailey Hoodie need to be adjusted. The correct instruction is: Lay the Lower Front wrong side down on top of the right side of the Pocket Bag, matching the centre front edges.
The Bailey Hoodie (Issue 130) - Continued
Originally, the pattern instructions suggested the wrong side of the Pocket Bag should be against the wrong side of the Lower Front. This instruction should be reversed for accuracy.
The Milan Dress (Issue 121) - Continued
Corrected Milan Dress pattern pieces can be downloaded to rectify the issue of mislabeled Front and Back bodice pieces.
All these corrections can be accessed on the Simply Sewing pattern corrections page to ensure sewists have the proper templates and instructions for their projects.
