Annual Gem-A Photographer Competition Makes a Comeback for 2019!
The Gemological Association of America (Gem-A) has announced the return of its annual photography competition, the Gem-A Photographer of the Year. This year, the competition is open to all individuals with an interest in gemmology and a passion for photography, not just Gem-A Members and students.
The competition aims to highlight unusual or insightful aspects of the gemstone sector. It seeks entries that showcase unique interpretations of gemstones, gemmology, and the wider trade. The competition does not have categories, allowing photographers to express their creativity in a free and open manner.
The overall winner of the competition will receive a £300 voucher to spend at Gem-A Instruments and one year's free Membership of Gem-A. Two runners up will win a £50 Gem-A Instruments voucher each. Furthermore, all three winning entries will be published in the Gems&Jewellery magazine, with the possibility of being featured on the cover, the Last Impression, or the Big Picture feature page.
