Anticipation mounts as Wiesn Fever intensifies, revealing trembling connections
The anticipation for Oktoberfest is growing day by day, as the world's largest folk festival prepares to welcome six million visitors from September 20 to October 5. This year, the festival grounds will offer more accessibility options, with the "Sky Lift" and additional streets being dizziness- and barrier-free, complete with wheelchair access.
The "Sky Lift" promises an unforgettable experience, taking guests 71 meters above the city for a panoramic view of the festivities below. Panoramic windows on the cabin floors offer a breathtaking perspective of the Oktoberfest grounds.
A group from "Pfennigparade", a foundation for inclusion, will test the offerings for accessibility, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the festivities without any hindrances.
New attractions have been added to the Oktoberfest lineup. The children's ride "Die Montgolfiere" boasts a hot air balloon design, while a new carousel, "Happy Sailor", features 20 rotating gondolas.
Music enthusiasts can look forward to a live music competition, "A Liad für d'Wiesn", held for the first time this year. The three winning songs from this competition will be presented soon. The winner will be determined in mid-September, with the official announcement and release of the winning song to follow.
The competition process has been engaging the public since June 12, with online voting for eight finalist songs. The top three songs will be presented live at the Brass Wiesn festival on August 2, followed by a second round of voting continuing until mid-September.
Singer-songwriter Oimara, alias Beni Hafner, is the secret favorite for the Oktoberfest hit with his song "Wackelkontakt". The cost of a liter of beer at Oktoberfest has increased, ranging from 14.50 to 15.80 euros, marking an average increase of 3.52 percent compared to 2021.
Munich's Economic Affairs and Wiesn chief, Christian Scharpf (SPD), stated that they are on schedule for Oktoberfest, ensuring a memorable experience for all visitors. With these exciting updates, the stage is set for an unforgettable Oktoberfest 2025.
