Ayrburn Classic Car Show Attracts 5000, Showcases $250M in Vehicles

Over the weekend, the Ayrburn Classic car show in Queenstown attracted a massive crowd of around 5000 people. Visitors travelled from the North Island and Australia, with international visitors expected in the future. The event showcased an impressive collection of classic and modern luxury cars worth over $250 million.

The show featured 250 stunning cars, including a rare $8 million La Ferrari and the latest Aston Martin Vanquish. The Kiwi Pioneers category was won by a 1964 Vauxhall PB Cresta, while a 1970 Ford Falcon GTHO took the Awesome Australians category. A 2021 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR was crowned the winner in the American Classics and Muscle category. The Best in Show award went to a 1939 Rolls Royce Wraith.

Adding to the excitement, country singer-songwriter Miranda Easten headlined the entertainment on Saturday, showcasing her original DeLorean. On Sunday, Kiwi rally star Emma Gilmour made a special appearance.

The Ayrburn Classic car show, owned by David Harding, the founder and CEO of Winton, aims to become one of the world's premier car shows. With its impressive collection of vehicles and exciting events, it's well on its way to achieving that goal.
