Bergisch Gladbach, a city in Germany, recently concluded its participation in the nationwide STADTRADELN 2025 campaign, a city-wide cycling event promoting sustainable and climate-friendly transportation.
Over the course of three weeks, a total of 763 cyclists, divided into 34 teams, embarked on 12,516 trips, collectively covering a staggering 156,938 kilometers. The Konrad-Adenauer-Platz served as the meeting point for cycling enthusiasts from the entire region.
The official awards ceremony for the STADTRADELN 2025 campaign took place on July 17, 2025, as part of the Radtour NRW, and recognised the top performers. The Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium, a municipal school, was the school with the most kilometers covered during the campaign. The top two teams in the overall ranking were 3R & Friends and the Krüger Group.
Ragnar Migenda, First Deputy Mayor of Bergisch Gladbach, expressed his gratitude to all participants, stating that the bicycle is increasingly being used as a means of transport in the city and is CO2-emission-free. He further emphasised that everyone who uses a bicycle in Bergisch Gladbach makes a valuable contribution to the city's targeted climate neutrality.
The STADTRADELN 2025 campaign also introduced a new category, "Most Daily Trips", to further emphasise cycling in daily life. This initiative aligns with the city's broader goals of encouraging residents to choose cycling over motorized transport, thereby fostering sustainable mobility and community engagement.
Bergisch Gladbach, like many other German cities, is already looking forward to the STADTRADELN 2026 campaign. For more information about the STADTRADELN campaign, visit www.unser website.de/stadtradeln.
