Campaign Replaces Politicians' Names on Lawn Signs with Police Brutality Victims

A new campaign, 'Vote for Them', is replacing politicians' names on lawn signs with those killed due to police brutality. The project aims to highlight the political relevance of the criminal justice system and amplify the voices of marginalised groups. The campaign, developed by Goodby Silverstein & Partners for the Courageous Conversation Global Foundation, uses iconic lawn sign designs typically associated with specific candidates in presidential elections. Instead, these signs now bear the names of those who lost their lives due to police brutality, serving as a stark reminder that voters are essentially voting for these individuals who cannot cast their own ballots. Lawn signs are a reliable and impactful tool in elections, often serving as visual reminders of candidates' platforms and values. By repurposing this tool, the 'Vote for Them' campaign seeks to raise awareness about the political marginalisation of incarcerated individuals and the need for broader political participation. The 'Vote for Them' campaign, aligned with the Courageous Conversation Global Foundation's focus on racial justice and education, aims to spark conversation and action. By placing the names of the victims on lawn signs, it encourages voters to consider the political implications of police brutality and the need for systemic change.
