Castle Prunn's Community Event: Family Fun Day
On the 17th of August, Prunn Castle will host a special event titled "Open Castle Creatively". This unique day, organised by the Bavarian Palace Administration, invites visitors to explore the castle at their own pace, with self-guided tours available from 9 am to 6 pm.
However, the real excitement comes between 11 am and 5 pm, when activity stations will be set up, offering a glimpse into medieval craft techniques. Visitors can learn how to spin with a hand spindle, create intricate clothing clasps, and even make things from leather.
To add to the immersive experience, castle guide Werner Reichel will delve into some aspects of medieval life during the event, providing insights that will transport you back in time. Families can make use of a free explorer's map to navigate their way around medieval life at the castle.
This event is a departure from the usual guided tours offered at Prunn Castle. For one day only, visitors will have the opportunity to interact with the crafts and learn directly from the activity stations. It's a chance to get hands-on with history and create a memorable experience for all ages.
So, mark your calendars for August 17th and prepare to immerse yourself in the world of medieval crafts and life at Prunn Castle. Whether you're a history buff or just looking for a fun day out, this event promises to be an enlightening and enjoyable experience.
