🌞 Sunny Day Fun: Lee Valley White Water Centre's Water Wipeout 🌞

Who doesn't love a sunny day out? We've been to various water parks before, but the mere idea of navigating Water Wipeout at Lee Valley White Water Centre piqued our interest! We weren't sure what to expect size-wise, but everyone raved about it being their all-time favorite.

Upon arrival, finding a parking spot was a breeze. The course has a quirky dress code—everyone must wear a T-shirt and shorts over their swimsuit (which wasn't an issue for the boys since they wore shorts as part of their swim attire). Initially, the dress code seemed a bit odd to us, but once we got there, we discovered that they provide wet suits and water boots for rent, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. There's something cool about the water boots at Water Wipeout, and they definitely help you traverse the course without slipping.

We skipped the wetsuits but didn't mind using their free, hassle-free lockers. The staff at Lee Valley White Water Centre were incredibly friendly, especially when it came to using the facilities. Now, let's get down to the course itself. Initially, the course appeared smaller than others we've encountered, but that was because it comprised two separate courses with less deep water, like at other lakes.

The facilitator explained that only four people could be on each portion of the course at once and that we had to proceed from the start to the finish of each course. This organization greatly improved safety—we never witnessed a single instance of someone being pushed into the water or someone rushing and causing someone else to fall. The flow of movement and this requirement made the entire experience far calmer and much more enjoyable. Additionally, there were step-like access points to get onto the start of each course, which greatly eased the burden on our arms since it's usually the trickiest part when getting back onto the course.

Each of the courses at Water Wipeout was uniquely designed, featuring different sections. It wasn't long before our family found our favorites. Kai loved the tunnel section he could climb on top of, while Amelia and Robin preferred the course without jumping from pad to pad. We had a blast going on this one over and over. As the facilitator started giving out challenges, such as holding hands while going through the course or going through backwards (literally walking backwards!), the fun level skyrocketed.

Our visit to Water Wipeout at Lee Valley White Water Centre was terrific, and it was fascinating to see other activities happening nearby, like kayaking and paddleboarding. We can already tell that we'll be back soon!
