Conway Point: New Energy-Efficient Apartments Bring Affordable Housing to Norris Green
The Norris Green district of Liverpool has welcomed a new energy-efficient apartment block, Conway Point. Built by One Vision Housing and operated by The Sovini Group, this development is part of a larger plan to create affordable homes in the region.
Conway Point, completed recently in Wirral, UK, offers 46 modern apartments. The building process began in summer 2022 and is part of The Sovini Group's framework to construct 1,000 affordable homes over five years. These apartments are not just affordable but also eco-friendly, contributing to The Sovini Group's net zero carbon commitment.
Located a mere two-minute walk from Birkenhead town centre, Conway Point provides residents with easy access to local amenities. This is particularly significant given the high housing costs in the North West. A 2022 Centre for Social Justice report found that over 40% of people in the region struggle with housing costs, with 77% agreeing that social housing is essential.
To help tenants save for a deposit, Conway Point offers a Rent to Buy scheme. Tenants pay rent at 20% below market prices, making it more affordable for them to eventually purchase the property.
Conway Point, with its energy-efficient design and affordable rent options, is a welcome addition to the Norris Green district. It not only provides much-needed affordable housing but also aligns with The Sovini Group's sustainability goals. The Rent to Buy scheme further empowers tenants, offering them a pathway towards homeownership.
