A Peaceful Swedish Summer Cabin Showcases New Scandinavian Design

Nestled in the tranquil Swedish countryside, a charming little cabin is currently showcasing a new collection from Skandinavien. The cabin, designed with a focus on peacefulness and slow living, is a testament to the enduring appeal of Scandinavian design.

The cabin's sitting room features a pair of classic Windsor Chairs, arranged around a table, and a new Danish armchair, the Cuba Chair, from Carl Hansen & Søn. While no new furniture pieces from Carl Hansen & Søn, other than the Cuba Chair and Windsor Chairs, are showcased in the cabin, the interior is extensively adorned with Scandinavian design furniture.

In contrast, Carl Hansen & Søn's dining room boasts soft blue wishbone chairs, a staple of their design ethos. However, these chairs are absent in the Swedish cabin. Instead, the cabin's interior is characterised by the use of local pine boards, crafted by a skilled local carpenter, creating a clutter-free environment that emphasises the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Recently, Carl Hansen & Søn has also released a VLA26T Vega Chair, but it does not appear in the Swedish cabin. Instead, the focus remains on the Cuba Chair, a new addition to the Danish brand's collection.

Studio Update: The cabin has seen some changes, with a shelving and a coat rack added to the interior. These additions serve to further enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the cabin.

Whether you're a fan of Scandinavian design or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, this little cabin in Sweden is a must-visit. It offers a unique blend of tradition and modernity, showcasing the best of Scandinavian design in a serene and inviting environment.

[1] Rune’s cosy Norwegian home at Christmas, a thoughtfully designed cabin situated on a sloping coastal site near Stavanger, is another example of Scandinavian design at its finest. The home, which features clever architectural use of the terrain and extensive fitted furniture made from local pine boards, offers a similar experience of peace and tranquility.

The Swedish cabin, a prime example of home-and-garden design, exhibits a peaceful atmosphere, mimicking the lifestyle found in Rune's cosy Norwegian home. This cabin, adorned with Scandinavian design furniture, showcases an interior-design philosophy that emphasizes functionality and beauty, seamlessly blending tradition and modernity.
