Craig Revel Horwood, a popular judge on Strictly Come Dancing, has recently embarked on a new chapter in his life as he moved from the bustling city of London to a quaint community in Northamptonshire. The move, which took place in October 2021, saw him purchase a £1.8million seven-bed mansion in the rural area.
The move was a welcome change for Horwood, who found the anonymity in his previous residences in London and Hampshire to be less than ideal. In his new home, he finds the "village vibe" and sense of community to be refreshing, a stark contrast to his past experiences.
Horwood has already begun a renovation project on his Northamptonshire home, with the aim of completing the work in about two weeks from August 8, 2022. However, he admits that the project might take a bit longer. He shared a sneak peek of his all-white kitchen on Instagram, which features white cabinets, grey marble countertops, and a large kitchen island. The floor of the kitchen was adorned with dark coloured stone tiles, which have since been removed during the remodelling.
The judge has also added a sweeping staircase to his home, and he finds the people in the Northamptonshire community to be friendly, chatty, and welcoming. In an interview with Peterborough Matters in 2022, Horwood shared his positive experiences, stating that he can now walk to a pub and a shop, unlike his previous country property in Hampshire which had a mile-long drive and no neighbours.
The move seems to have been a profitable one for Horwood, with his Northamptonshire mansion believed to have increased in value by £235,000 in the first two years he owned it. Horwood's comments about his new home and community were met with enthusiasm, as he expressed his delight at finding a place where he feels truly at home.
