Del Ray Farmhouse Market Launches New Grocery Store

The Kroger Farmhouse Market and Garden has launched a new grocery store in the neighbourhood. The soft opening on October 8 offered locals fresh produce, bread, and eggs. The store is committed to competitive pricing and supporting local vendors.

The store's initial offerings include fresh tomatoes at $3 a pound, eggplant at $4.75, and Romaine lettuce at $2.75. A dozen eggs can be bought for $8. This 'micro-version' of a standard grocery store will expand its range over time. Fresh bread is delivered daily and sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

The store is curated intentionally to ensure both product relevance and competitive pricing. It displays the origin of its products, with perishable items sourced locally and shelf-stable products from small domestic brands. The local farmers and producers supplying the store include regional growers and artisanal food producers from the Del Ray and surrounding areas, focusing on fresh, locally sourced products.

The Kroger Farmhouse Market and Garden's grocery store aims to provide a convenient, competitive, and community-focused shopping experience. It replaces the previous tenant, Bellies and Babies consignment boutique, and has been open since March.
