Dusseldorf Updates: Monarch's Visit at the City Hall
In a heartwarming event, the traditional children's mission organisation "Die Sternsinger" paid a visit to the town hall on Monday, 6th January. Thirty-six Kings and Queens, accompanied by City Dean Frank Heidkamp, Kirsten Pretz, Christopher Frieling, and Chaplain Johannes Frost, brought joy and blessings to the community.
The visit was organised by the Kindermissionswerk "Die Sternsinger" and the Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend (BDKJ), with the aim of collecting donations to help strengthen the rights of children worldwide and promote their implementation.
Mayor Josef Hinkel's office was delighted to receive the blessing, as were the members of the CDU faction in the city council. The group was also warmly welcomed by Mayor Stephan Keller, who expressed his gratitude for the children's commitment.
During the visit, the Sternsinger attached the blessing sticker "20*C+M+B+25" at various locations in the town hall. Everyone who attended the Sternsinger visit was also treated to a delicious crown, baked especially for the occasion by the bakery Hinkel.
In addition to singing two songs, the children also recited a blessing during the visit. The blessings were placed at many locations in the town hall, bringing a sense of peace and goodwill to the community.
The Sternsinger action, which has been ongoing for 67 years, has collected over 1.3 billion euros for aid projects for children. This year's action is under the motto "Raise your voice! - Sternsingen for children's rights".
The "C+M+B" does not stand for the names of the kings Caspar, Melchior, and Baltasar, but for the Latin translation of "Christ bless this house". The visit was part of the Sternsinger action, bringing hope and support to the community and to children in need around the world.
