The city of Gießen is set to launch the third consecutive year of its "Active Energy Supply" campaign, running from September 10 to November 19, 2025. This initiative, in partnership with the Hessian Energy Agency (LEA Hessia), aims to help homeowners in the Evangelical Settlement, Professor's Quarter, and two adjacent areas make their homes more energy-efficient and climate-friendly.

The campaign kicks off with an opening event on September 10 at 6:00 PM at the campus of the Technical University of Middle Hesse. Mayor Alexander Wright will welcome attendees, followed by a presentation of the campaign and information about district heating connections and the use of heat pumps in the area. Qualified energy consultants will be available to answer individual questions after the presentation.

Participating homeowners will receive initial individual recommendations and practical tips for their next steps towards energy efficiency and climate-friendliness. The on-site consultations during the campaign will focus on topics such as efficient heat protection, modern heating technology, and the optimal use of renewable energies.

Interested property owners can register online at Visited Energy Consultation, by email (klimaschutz@giessen.de), or by phone (0641 306-2110) to schedule a consultation appointment. Homeowners can also opt for a free, individual homeowners insurance consultation directly at their homes as part of the campaign.

Information booths of the city works Gießen, Sparkasse Gießen, and Volksbank Middle Hesse will provide further information on energy renovation, funding, and financing options. The goal of the campaign is to not only increase the energy renovation quota but also strengthen the living quality and climate change protection in the community in the long term.

Mayor Wright emphasizes that bringing energy consulting directly into the neighbourhoods is a key approach of the campaign. The goal of the campaign is to provide concrete assistance to make residential buildings more energy-efficient and climate-friendly, especially in areas with high energy-saving potential.

Join the "Active Energy Supply" campaign and take a step towards a more sustainable future for your home and the community. Register today and start your journey towards energy efficiency and climate-friendliness.
