Nordhorn, a city in Germany, has recently upgraded several of its playgrounds as part of its play and neighborhood park concept. This initiative aims to create attractive, actively used spaces for children and families.

One of the latest additions is the new ground trampoline at the Rotdornweg playground. This play area is further supplemented by roughly hewn sandstone blocks for jumping, balancing, and seating. The sandstone blocks add a natural touch to the playground, providing a perfect spot for children to rest after a fun-filled trampoline session.

In addition to the Rotdornweg playground, Nordhorn now boasts a total of six publicly accessible playgrounds with water play areas. The water play areas are a hit among children, offering a popular way to cool off on hot days. Two new water play areas have been added at the "Im Birkenbusch" and "Akazienstraße" playgrounds.

Shared experiences are a significant part of playing with water in the water play areas. These areas promote motor and creative skills, making them an essential part of the city's play and neighborhood park concept.

The city has also rebuilt the unique play equipment at the Rüschenweg playground using the existing stainless steel slide, support rail, and running carriage for sustainability. The worn-out rail track at this playground has been completely renewed.

Heinz Silies from the Department of City Planning and Environment of the city of Nordhorn explains that ground trampolines are popular in the participation rounds for the play and neighborhood park concept. The city invites all children, families, and playground fans to discover the newly designed facilities in Neuberlin and Blumensiedlung.

Since 2016, the city of Nordhorn has been implementing its play and neighborhood park concept neighborhood by neighborhood. The Main Street playground's water play area is currently popular among children.

An overview map of all play and water play locations in Nordhorn can be found at www.our website/spielplatz. The city is currently focusing on the neighborhoods of Neuberlin and Blumensiedlung, with two more water play areas in the planning stage.

Improvements have been made to the staying quality of the playgrounds to ensure they remain safe and enjoyable for years to come. The city's play and neighborhood park concept is designed to create attractive places that are actively used, providing a fun and engaging environment for children and families in Nordhorn.
