The vibrant art scene of Meiningen is set to light up this September, with a series of exciting events and exhibitions taking place at the municipal gallery ada Meiningen.

Starting with the event 'LOST IN THE SHADOWS, NEW IN THE LIGHT: Rediscoveries in Art & Spirit,' organised by NEKST e.V. on September 21, 2025, at 3 pm. This event promises to highlight successful figures from international art and cultural history who have been unjustly forgotten, through enlightening lectures and sometimes accompanying workshops. Notably, Italian Baroque painter Artemisia Gentileschi will be the focus of a presentation by Anna Schulz, a master's student in art history from Frankfurt am Main.

From September 28, 2025, the gallery will host Eva Skupin's works, with the opening ceremony taking place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 4 pm. Skupin's works are sure to captivate visitors with their unique style and themes.

Concurrently, the summer exhibition 're:figuration' has been running at the gallery since late June. The works of artists Anna Grebner and Julia Burek are part of this exhibition, offering a fascinating encounter of two distinct artistic positions. Grebner's works express social actions, materials, movement, and fluid, fleeting elements that determine the space, while Burek explores places and lighting moods within the exhibition.

The municipal gallery ada Meiningen, located at Bernhardstraße 3 in Meiningen, is open to the public Wednesday to Sunday and on public holidays from 2 pm to 7:30 pm. For more information about the gallery and its events, visit www.meiningen.de/galerie-ada.

As the days of September unfold, art enthusiasts in Meiningen have much to look forward to. The encounter of the artistic positions of Anna Grebner and Julia Burek within the exhibition can be interpreted as two aspects shaping the space, with Burek focusing on the outer appearance, static elements, architecture, and atmosphere, while Grebner delves into the social and fluid aspects. This duality promises to create a rich and immersive artistic experience for all who visit.
