Equipment for large-scale tree planting will be provided to Yalta.
In a significant move aimed at enhancing urban development and promoting green spaces, Herman Gref, the Head of Sberbank, has handed over a set of advanced tree planting equipment valued at approximately 100 million rubles to the Republic of Yakutia.
The equipment, which will be operated by "Yakutlesresurs", will initially be used in Yakutsk, specifically in public spaces. This generous donation comes as a response to the growing need to increase greening efforts in the city, a concern emphasized by Aisen Nikolaev, the head of the republic, during a recent appearance on the "Direct Talk" program.
Nikolaev highlighted the challenges faced in preserving trees during road reconstruction, noting that a large area is often taken from both sides of the roadway. However, he also acknowledged that despite these challenges, efforts are being made to green the city, albeit slowly.
In their first meeting, Nikolaev and Gref discussed urban development and city growth, with Gref's decision to donate the equipment being seen as a means to ensure greening in Yakutia goes under modern conditions. The Republic of Yakutia will own the tree planting facility that Sberbank hands over to it in 2023.
Nikolaev also pointed out that in some places, trees could have been preserved during road reconstruction. He stressed the importance of increasing efforts to green the city, a sentiment shared by many as Yakutsk continues to grow and develop.
With the new equipment, Yakutia now has the means to plant large trees efficiently and effectively, contributing to a greener and more vibrant cityscape. This donation serves as a testament to Sberbank's commitment to sustainability and Yakutia's dedication to urban development and environmental preservation.
