In a celebration of culinary excellence, two distinguished gastronomic companies in Hesse, Germany, have been awarded the prestigious Hesse à la Carte quality seal. The Justus in the Hessian Court in Giessen and the wine house Schultes in Limburg have been recognised for their commitment to regional and sustainable business practices in the culinary industry.
The wine house Schultes, known for its Hessian-Mediterranean cuisine, offers a delightful array of dishes, including asparagus, mushrooms, and game. With a strong emphasis on seasonal ingredients and daily changes to the menu, Schultes stands out as a specialist in fresh, locally-sourced business offerings. The establishment primarily works with regional producers and suppliers, ensuring a true taste of Hesse.
The Justus in the Hessian Court, on the other hand, is renowned for its homemade quality with traditional Hessian roots. Everything served at Justus, from ketchup to quark, is made with care, showcasing a dedication to authentic Hessian flavours in their business operations.
Both establishments have been commended for their culinary ambition, sustainability, and regional connection. The quality check, which evaluates the origin of the products, the culinary offer, and the gastronomic quality, is carried out every three years. Depending on the score, the businesses are awarded with 1, 2, or 3 Hessian state lions. This year, both Justus and Schultes received the highest honour, earning the distinction of three lions.
The holiday region Lahn Valley, known for enjoyment, hospitality, and lived regionality, is proud to have these two establishments as part of its culinary landscape. Philipp Borchard, Managing Director of the Lahn Valley Tourism Association e. V., expressed his delight about the commitment of the awarded businesses to the Hessian business scene.
In addition to Justus and Schultes, the restaurant DAS MANGOLD in Bischofsheim was also recognised with the special distinction "Drei Löwen" for quality. The three gastronomic companies awarded by Hessen à la Carte this year are part of the regional quality community, though the exact names of the other two establishments were not specified in the available results.
The Hesse à la carte quality seal is a testament to the high standards in regional and sustainable business practices. The commitment of the awarded businesses is seen as a way for guests to experience and taste the region, making each meal a journey through the flavours of Hesse. The businesses that pass the quality check receive a certificate signed by Kaweh Mansouri and the Hesse à la carte business managers Gisbert J. Kern and Yvonne Heider.
As we savour the success of these esteemed establishments, we look forward to the continued growth and development of Hessian businesses, with their rich traditions and innovative approaches to regional cuisine.
