Expanded urban vehicle with a focus on eco-friendliness
On Wednesday, September 17, the city of Hamm is hosting an event titled "More City Green (in Hamm) Dare." This event, part of the nationwide "Week of Climate Adaptation" from September 16 to 22, takes place at the central library in the Heinrich-von Kleist Forum (Gerd-Bucerius-Saal) at Platz der Deutsche Einheit 1.
The event provides space for exchange and discussion, inviting attendees to ask questions and engage directly with a panel of experts. Rainer Wilkes from Radio Lippewelle will moderate the event.
Dr. Nina Schuster from TU Dortmund will discuss the importance of urban green from the perspective of urban and regional sociology. Cornelis Hemmer, author of the book "Meeting Point Diversity - Near-natural Design of Residential Areas," will share his experiences in redesigning green spaces. Hartmut Sonderhüsken, from the Public Works and Green Spaces Office of the City of Hamm, will also be present. Yannick Kämper, from the Environmental Office of the City of Hamm, will join the discussion as well.
Wilma Großmaas, Climate Change Adaptation Manager of the City of Hamm, will also be present to share insights into the city's commitment to climate adaptation.
Green spaces contribute to stabilizing the climate, creating habitats for animals, and enhancing the quality of life for all citizens. The event aims to promote increasing urban park greenery and discuss strategies for its implementation.
Admission to the event is free, making it accessible to all interested parties. If you're passionate about climate adaptation, urban greenery, and the future of our cities, be sure to attend "More City Green (in Hamm) Dare" on September 17.
