Extension of Lease Agreement for Reservoir at Cossebaude

Located in the picturesque town of Cossebaude, bathing operations at the reservoir lake are set to continue this year. The Dresden Baths have managed to negotiate an extension of the lease contract with Vattenfall Corporation for the use of the reservoir lake. The swimming season at Cossebaude will commence on May 28th.

In addition, early outdoor bathing options within the Dresden area will be available as early as May 1st, with the Albert-Schwarz-Bad in Heidenau among them. The bath is open from 9 am to 8 pm.

While Dresden and its surroundings boast an array of public swimming spots, specific opening dates and hours for these facilities, including Cossebaude reservoir lake and the Albert-Schwarz-Bad, are subject to annual publication and can be found on the official city or facility websites as summer approaches. Meanwhile, advance online booking has become common in some areas, so it's advisable to check before making a visit.

Another popular outdoor swimming pool in Heidenau, the Albert-Schwarz-Bad, welcomes visitors but has yet to announce its 2025 opening dates and hours. Similarly, the opening dates and times for the Cossebaude reservoir are determined by local authorities and may be weather-dependent.

For the most accurate and up-to-date opening hours and seasonal dates, it is recommended to visit the official websites of the City of Dresden, Heidenau’s municipal services, or the specific facility’s page. Advance booking is increasingly common, especially for regulated swimming areas.

The Albert-Schwarz-Bad, located in Heidenau, offers a home-and-garden setting for outdoor bathing and is popular among visitors, but its 2025 opening dates and hours have yet to be announced. Meanwhile, the Cossebaude reservoir, a scenic bathing location, releases its opening dates and hours annually, which are often weather-dependent and can be found on the official city or facility websites.
