Finisterre expands rental program to include adaptive Yulex wetsuits, advocating equal access to the sea with the statement, "the sea does not discriminate, and neither should access to it."
British surfwear brand Finisterre has made a significant stride in promoting ocean inclusivity by adding adaptive Yulex wetsuits to its standard rental program. This move ensures that everyone, regardless of their needs, can now experience the freedom and joy the sea offers at the same rental price as standard wetsuits.
The new rental options include both 3mm and 5mm Yulex Back Zip Adapted wetsuits. Men can rent a 3mm Back Zip Adapted Suit for £25 (£5 per day) or a 5mm Back Zip wetsuit for £32.50 (£6.50 per day). Similarly, women can rent a 3mm Back Zip Adapted Suit for £25 (£5 per day) or a 5mm Back Zip wetsuit for £32.50 (£6.50 per day).
These adaptive wetsuits have been designed with special features such as wrist and legs zips for easier entry and exit, as well as modified closures that are more accessible. Finisterre is the first company in the world to offer adaptive Yulex wetsuits for rental.
Prior to this addition, Finisterre offered adaptive wetsuits free of charge via a foundation program for those in need. However, the brand has now expanded its rental program to make these adaptive wetsuits accessible to everyone.
Those who need financial support or have bespoke requirements can still apply for a fully funded rental pathway. Finisterre founder Tom Kay emphasizes that the goal is to ensure everyone has the opportunity to experience the sea without discrimination. He says, "The sea doesn't discriminate, and neither should access to it."
More information and rental options are available on Finisterre's rental site. All adaptive wetsuit rentals have a minimum of five days. Finisterre's commitment to ocean inclusivity now includes making adaptive wetsuits accessible through its core rental service.
