On Reformation Day, Oct 31st, several museums in Hamburg offer free admission. Under the hashtag #seeforfree, visitors can check out numerous exhibitions or participate in guided tours. Here's what you can expect this year:

Diverse Programs in Multiple Languages

Besides free entry, participating museums also organize additional activities such as guided tours, readings, and interactive sessions. More than 200 program points will be held in various languages, including German, English, Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Plattdeutsch, and German Sign Language. Experiences at #seeforfree Museums

Highlights of this year's #seeforfree events include a question-and-answer session about Lost Places at the Archaëological Museum Hamburg and a Commodore 64 gaming session at the Retro-Spiele-Club. At the WasserForum, visitors can learn about the effects of heavy rain or consider ways to effectively use rainwater in Hamburg.

The Energieberg Georgswerder will open its doors one last time this year on Oct 31st. From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, visitors can participate in free guided tours, enter a photography contest, and partake in an Upcycling action to make lanterns.

Inclusive Offerings

Explore queer stories and identities in art history at the Hamburger Kunsthalle via a dialogical guided tour (16+). For people with hearing impairments, the Deichtorhallen will offer a guided tour in German Sign Language (14:30-15:00) about the special exhibition "Tactics and Mythologies" at Phoxxi, the temporary photography house.

The KZ-Gedenkstaette Neuengamme will offer a guided tour for people with learning difficulties (13:00-16:00). The tour includes easier language, images, objects, and quotes. Registration is required.

Antonia Fiedler
