French President Macron's official visit to the residence of Kate, a notable figure.
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, and her husband, Prince William, the heir apparent, will play a prominent role in welcoming French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, during their state visit to the UK from July 8 to 10, 2025.
The royal couple will greet the Macrons upon their arrival at RAF Northolt in northwest London on Tuesday morning, marking the beginning of a busy schedule for Kate. Her official duties during the visit include accompanying the French presidential couple on their journey to Windsor Castle, taking part in the formal ceremonial welcome at the Royal Dais, joining the Macrons and King Charles III in a carriage procession through Windsor town, and attending a lunch hosted by the King and Queen.
King Charles III, who is currently experiencing a busy time, will continue to receive outpatient treatment. Last year, he publicly revealed a cancer diagnosis and has several appointments in Scotland this week. Despite his personal challenges, he and Queen Camilla are expected to officially receive the presidential couple with a royal salute and other honours at Windsor Castle.
The state visit serves as a blueprint for the planned visit of US President Donald Trump, scheduled for September. Following their visit to Windsor, the Macrons will stop at the London landmarks of Westminster Abbey and the British Parliament.
On the last day of the state visit, a bilateral summit is planned, and the royal couple, including the Macrons and the heir apparent couple, will take a carriage ride through the town of Windsor west of London. In the evening, King Charles will host a state banquet in honour of the French presidential couple.
However, it remains uncertain whether Kate will also participate in the state banquet, according to PA. The Princess recently spoke about the challenges of the recovery process from her cancer illness, describing it as a "rollercoaster ride."
This role places Kate and Prince William at the centre of the royal reception for the French presidential couple, underscoring their significant diplomatic and ceremonial involvement in this major state occasion. The state visit by President Macron is the first by a French head of state since Nicolas Sarkozy visited Queen Elizabeth II in 2008. On Wednesday, the Macrons will meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his wife Victoria at 10 Downing Street.
Kate Middleton, amidst her recovery process from her cancer illness, will be actively involved in the home-and-garden aspect of the state visit, touring Windsor Castle and participating in a carriage procession through the town. The royal couple, Kate and Prince William, will also engage in outdoor-living activities during the visit, taking a carriage ride through the town of Windsor west of London.
