Holy Cross College Prepares for the Holiday Season
As the autumn term at the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts draws to a close, the campus is buzzing with festive activities and events in preparation for the upcoming holiday season.
In an effort to facilitate constructive conversations during the holidays, the Holy Cross Elections Forum provided students with a "Holiday Conversation Guide" from the Constructive Dialogue Institute. The guide aims to help students navigate difficult discussions with family and friends during the holiday season.

In addition to shopping, the college community can look forward to various events leading up to Christmas Break. The 46th Annual Festival of Lessons & Carols took place on Thursday, December 5th at 8 pm in the chapel at Holy Cross. The event featured performances from the Delilahs, the Chamber Singers, and the Holy Cross Goodtime Marching Band.
Hot chocolate, snacks, and music were provided for all in attendance at the Christmas Tree Lighting presented by the Purple Key Society, which occurred on Tuesday at the O'Kane Hall porch. Community members can stop by Campion House today, Friday the 22nd, for Challah and Hamantaschen in excitement for Hanukkah.
The Democratic Futures Forum, sponsored by the McFarland Center, organized a panel of faculty members to discuss what democracy means. While President Vincent Rougeau was among the esteemed panelists, the forum did not involve him speaking about democracy in the context of the Holy Cross community. President Rougeau is, however, a member of Commonweal's Board of Directors. Last week, Commonweal Magazine, the oldest independent Catholic opinion journal in the United States, celebrated its 100th anniversary at Chelsea Piers in New York City.
Voter registration information was made available to students at the Government and Community relations table on the first floor of Hogan. The tables, set up during the week before fall break, provided students with voter registration forms and information about the voting process.
