Garbsen's CITY competition concluded with a bike grill event, honouring cyclists who pedalled between June 18 and July 7. The city's mayor, Claudio Provenzano, thanked the participants for their commitment to climate protection.

A total of 1,027 cyclists in 51 main teams took part in the competition, covering an impressive 212,429 kilometers. This collective effort resulted in a significant reduction of CO2 emissions, approximately 35 tons. The top ten individual cyclists were recognised, with Harald Granow leading the pack, cycling an astonishing 3,027.8 kilometers. To show appreciation, the city administration hosted a BIKE grill, catered by their service team, inviting 70 cyclists.

The best classes of primary and secondary schools were awarded for the first time, receiving cash and prizes. The winner of the CITY competition in Garbsen this year remains unknown, as the name was not provided in the available search results. A raffle was held among team captains, with prizes including water bottles, backpacks, CITY bags, and T-shirts.

Garbsen's CITY competition successfully encouraged cycling, benefiting both the environment and the community. The city looks forward to continued participation and success in future events.
