German authorities have been called upon for their input on the discussion of the proposed budget.
The Glühweinhütte in Wersten, a popular meeting point during the Christmas season, will be closing its doors for the final time this year on Saturday, January 4th. However, before it does, the cultural hub has planned a series of events to bid farewell and give back to the local community.
The Kulturzentrum Schlachthof is the organisation collecting donations at the last day of the Glühweinhütte on Saturday. The donations will be used to support the festival and maintain the cultural centre's projects and activities for the local community. This year, the donations are being directed towards those affected by the 2021 flood.
One of the main events on the last day is the Christmas tree throwing competition, which will take place from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Only natural trees are required for this event, and a "competition tree" will be available for spontaneous participation.
A special Christmas tradition will also take place on the last opening day. Organised by Dirk Rauchmann, the hut owner, this tradition involves finishing all the drinks at the hut, with the motto "everything must go".
The Glühweinhütte has been standing at the green space between Burscheider Straße, Werstener Feld, and Kölner Landstraße since November 20th. During its stay, it has been a hub of festive activities, including caroling events.
The remaining stock of goods at the Glühweinhütte will be sold on Saturday, and wine from the Ahr region will be offered. Many Wersten residents gather at the Glühweinhütte, making it a lively and welcoming place during the Christmas season.
It's important to note that the situation for those affected by the 2021 flood is still not fully resolved, and donations made at the Glühweinhütte will be going towards a worthy cause.
The Glühweinhütte will open on Saturday, January 4th, from 5 PM, giving visitors one last chance to enjoy the festive atmosphere before it closes for the season. It's a great opportunity to join in the Christmas tree throwing competition, take part in the special tradition, and support a good cause.
