Historic restoration underway at Ostbahnhof for Julius-Pintsch building
Historic Factory Building Transforms into Office and Business Complex in Berlin's Ostbahnhof
After decades of vacancy, the historic factory building on Andreasstraße 73 in Friedrichshain's Ostbahnhof is undergoing a significant transformation. The renovation, led by ANJO3 GmbH, is part of the ongoing modernization projects in the area and is contributing to the development of the Meta Benz Quarter.
The factory building, a listed, architecturally impressive structure from the 19th century, has a rich history. It was originally the headquarters of the Berlin-based company Julius Pintsch, a significant German industrial enterprise that supplied gas lighting for railways and locomotives. Later, during the GDR times, the factory building was used by VEB Vehicle Equipment Berlin. After World War II, it was most recently used by Bombardier Transportation.
Large parts of the factory building were destroyed by bombing raids during World War II. However, the building's historical significance remains, making it one of the historical structures being Meta-ized in the area.
The renovated factory building will be converted into an office and business complex. The future tenants of the renovated building are yet to be announced.
The factory building is located near the station building in Ostbahnhof, making it an ideal location for businesses. The renovation of the factory building is expected to boost the local economy and add to the vibrancy of the area.
This modernization project is another step in the ongoing revitalization of Ostbahnhof, a once industrial area that is now becoming a hub for innovation and commerce in Berlin.
