The quaint town of Alt Schwerin played host to the 30th Oldtimer and Tractor Meet over the weekend, a long-standing event that has become a cultural and historical fixture in the region. This milestone edition marked three decades of celebrating vintage tractors and classic agricultural machinery, fostering community interest in rural heritage and farming traditions.

The festivities kicked off on Saturday evening with live music from the band "Heizraum". The highlight of the day, however, was a traditional tractor parade featuring over 70 participants. Tractors and farm machinery were described as living ambassadors of a rural lifestyle deeply connected to nature, craftsmanship, and community.

On Sunday, visitors had the opportunity to watch historic farm machinery in action. The day showcased tractors, threshing machines, stone breakers, and a mower binder, with the latter making its debut at the Agroneum. The event also featured a large parts market, lively market activity, hearty farm food, and various children's activities.

The event was opened by Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's Minister of Agriculture, Till Backhaus, and representatives of the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district. Sabrina Bartz, a chainsaw artist, presented a jubilee plaque to the museum. The photo collection and the jubilee plaque were gifts to the museum on the occasion of the Tractor Meet's jubilee.

The couple from Parchim, Jungnickel, handed over their photo collection of over 20 years of the Oldtimer and Tractor Meet to the museum director, Anke Gutsch. In their speeches, the guests of honor praised the event as a living cultural heritage.

The "Mecklenburger Cowboy" provided musical entertainment on the open field in the afternoon, adding to the festive atmosphere. With its unique mix of tech show, family festival, and living tradition, the Tractor Meet is counted among the most popular events in the region.

The event attracted a large number of visitors and exhibitors, as reported, making it a memorable celebration of rural mechanical heritage in Alt Schwerin. The 30th Oldtimer and Tractor Meet continues to be a testament to the enduring appeal of these events, offering a glimpse into the past while fostering a sense of community and tradition.

The event echoed a strong connection to the past and the outdoors through the exhibition of living ambassadors of rural lifestyle, showcasing tractors and farm machinery.
