Starting from autumn 2025, Austrian television presenter Arabella Kiesbauer will take the helm as the new host of "Bares für Rares Österreich," the Austrian version of the popular antiques and collectibles show. Broadcast by Puls 4, the show will guide sellers through the process from expert appraisal to the bargaining with dealers[1][2][3].

Kiesbauer, best known for her 1990s ProSieben talk show "Arabella" and other TV roles, is taking over from Willi Gabalier, who previously hosted the format on ServusTV. The show's move from ServusTV to Puls 4 marks a new era for "Bares für Rares Österreich," with production set to begin in September 2025 and applications to appear on the show open until August 31[1][2].

Kiesbauer, a 56-year-old Austrian, expressed her enthusiasm for the role, emphasizing her love for stories behind rarities and antiques. She hopes to bring charm and wit similar to Horst Lichter, the longtime host of the German original version[1][4]. Kiesbauer, who is known for her passion for flea market shopping, has collected various items such as old radios and coffee grinders[5]. She aspires to emulate the success of Horst Lichter in the Austrian version of the show.

In a statement to the German Press Agency, Kiesbauer described herself as a "passionate flea market shopper" and expressed hope that with her new role in "Bares für Rares Österreich," the buying ban imposed by her husband due to lack of space might be lifted[6]. The start date for "Bares für Rares Österreich" on Puls 4 has not been announced yet.
