Kamchatka's Medical Workforce Set to Grow by 2025
The Kamchatka region's healthcare sector is bolstering its workforce with a targeted program. In 2024, 59 specialists graduated from this initiative, with more expected to return by 2025.
The program aims to retain and attract medical talent. Around 80 students from Kamchatka's Medical University are currently studying at top universities across Russia. They are scheduled to return by 2025, adding to the 300 students and trainees already undergoing postgraduate and higher education training.
The 2025 graduation is planned to be significant, with 80 specialists expected to complete their programs. This includes 41 in specialist programs and 39 in residency programs.
The regional Ministry of Health's personnel policy is focused on retention, attraction, and training of specialists. By 2025, the region expects a substantial increase in its medical workforce, thanks to the targeted program and the return of its students.
