Kia's New Tasman Pickup Arrives in Late 2023 With Strong Features and Pricing
Kia has announced its new Tasman pickup, set to hit the market in late 2023. The vehicle comes with a range of features, including a touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-year free Over-The-Air (OTA) update service for Kia Connect. The Tasman will be available in five trim levels, with the double cab 4x4 variant leading the news in August 2023.
All Tasman models will be powered by a 154kW/440Nm 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Kia is also developing a range of genuine accessories for the Tasman, including a steel underbody bash plate, a snorkel kit, and a towbar kit. The Australian Tasman ute comes with eight colour options, including white and beige with body-coloured fender flares. Prices start at $52,690 for the entry-level TX model and go up to $79,690 for the range-topping X-Pro.
As of late 2023, there are no official details on the available colours or exact equipment of the Kia Tasman, as the pickup had not yet been launched on the world news. It is also not confirmed if or when the Tasman will be introduced in New Zealand. However, it is expected that Kia will offer a selection of common pickup colours, such as white, silver, grey, blue, red, and black. Australian media reports speculate that a more vibrant colour range (similar to the Hyundai Santa Cruz or Ford Ranger) is possible, but concrete information is not yet available. The double cab Tasman includes standard features like disc brakes, LED headlights, a Terrain Mode Select system, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The Kia Tasman is set to be a versatile and well-equipped pickup, with a range of trim levels and accessories to choose from. While official details on colours and equipment are still pending, it is expected that the Tasman will offer a competitive range of features and pricing. Kia New Zealand and Australian official channels, as well as local news sources, are the best places to stay informed about the upcoming Tasman.
