Kindergarteners' Whale Replicas to Star in Langenfeld City Museum Exhibition
Preschoolers from Kindergarten Rappelkiste have created whale replicas for their 'Wonder World Whales' project, set to be exhibited at Langenfeld City Museum. The exhibition will run parallel to a special showcase of photographs by marine biologist Audun H. Rikardsen, focusing on whales and their habitats.
The young artists used natural materials and recycled items to craft their whale replicas. They explored the diverse ecosystem of the sea, learning about different whale species, their sizes, and the threats they face due to human activities. The project aims to raise awareness about marine conservation among the city's residents.
The 'Wonder World Whales' exhibition will be presented on June 13, 2024, at 5 PM at the city museum. It will run from June 16 to September 1, 2024, alongside the 'Winter Whales - Audun Rikardsen' exhibition. Visitors can expect to see images and objects reflecting the children's themes and questions about whales and their habitats. The museum will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 AM to 5 PM, with free admission.
The 'Wonder World Whales' project offers a unique opportunity for the community to learn about marine life and its conservation through the eyes of young, creative minds. The exhibition, featuring both the children's whale replicas and Audun Rikardsen's photographs, is set to inform and inspire visitors of all ages.
