Mobile Cinema Adventure Commences Across Romania: Offering Open-air Showings and Film Debuts with TIFF Unlimited Caravan
Get ready, film enthusiasts! The TIFF Unlimited Caravan, a travelling film series, is set to tour Romania for the 16th consecutive year, starting from July and running through to September 2025. This year's tour will stop in ten towns and cities, offering a mix of outdoor and indoor screenings for moviegoers to enjoy.
The tour will begin in Breb on July 12-13, followed by Târgu Lăpuș on July 18-19. The journey continues with stops in Timișoara (August 1-3), Satu Mare (August 1-3), Mediaș (August 22-24), Zabola (August 26-27), Roman (August 29-30), Bușteni (August 30-31), Iași (September 5-7), and Brasov (September 12-14).
The lineup for the TIFF Unlimited Caravan 2025 is as diverse as the locations it will visit. The tour will feature a selection of Romanian and international films, catering to a wide range of tastes. One of the highlights of the tour is the opening film, *Madly*, a romantic comedy directed by Paolo Genovese, known for *Perfect Strangers*. *Madly* was praised for its wit and complexity at TIFF.24 and will be screened in advance of its official release as part of the caravan.
Other notable Romanian films include *Hoții de subiecte*, directed by Tudor Petremarin, and *Moromeții 3*, directed by Stere Gulea. *Nasty*, a sports documentary directed by Tudor Giurgiu, Cristian Pascariu, and Tudor D. Popescu, and *Nasty in the TIFF Unlimited Caravan*, another sports documentary directed by the duo Cristian Pascariu and Tudor D. Popescu, are also part of the Romanian cinema representation in the TIFF Unlimited Caravan.
International films in the lineup include *Dreams*, a film by Michel Franco starring Jessica Chastain, *Anora*, directed by Sean Baker and winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes 2024, *The Return (2025)*, a contemporary retelling of the Odysseus myth directed by Uberto Pasolini, and *Maria*, a biopic of Maria Callas directed by Pablo Larraín and starring Angelina Jolie.
