New Bike Route Opens in L"ob-er-stra-ße, Boosting East-West Connection

Cyclists in the district can now enjoy a new route as the L"ob-er-stra-ße section between Bismarck-stra-ße and Goethe-stra-ße has opened for bike traffic in the opposite direction. This change aims to strengthen the east-west bike axis and reduce car usage, aligning with the city council's traffic development plan.

Previously, bikes coming from Berliner Platz had to turn onto Bismarck-stra-ße and then left into L"ony-stra-ße. Now, they can pass through directly. To ensure safety, the right-before-left rule applies, requiring improved visibility for bikes turning into Goethe-stra-ße and waiting traffic. Resident parking spaces freed up in L"ob-er-stra-ße will be set up in L"ony-stra-ße between Goethe-stra-ße and Bleich-stra-ße.

This opening connects to the heavily used Goethe-stra-ße bike axis, strengthening the route between the city park, train station, and the Lahn river. To accommodate both bike and car traffic, driveway accesses will serve as passing spaces, and adequate passing spaces, including longer ones, will be provided. Parking spaces on Goethe-stra-ße will be moved to improve visibility and allow additional signs for bike traffic in the opposite direction.

The opening of L"ob-er-stra-ße for opposite bike traffic is part of a series of measures to strengthen the east-west bike axis. These changes aim to make bike riding more attractive, reduce car usage, and improve traffic flow in the district.
