Old Teacher's Seminary in Krasnoyarsk to Undergo Restoration
In the heart of Krasnoyarsk, another historical landmark—the Teacher Seminary residential building on Ulitsa Kiрова, 11—is set for restoration. Originally built in the early 1900s, this dwelling now belongs to the local pedagogical college.
A competition has been announced for developing the scientific-project documentation of a two-story monument. This building, boasting regional cultural significance as a protected site, was constructed alongside the Teacher Seminary's educational building on Uritsky Street.
Additionally, the surrounding fence is safeguarded as part of the heritage site. Once upon a time, the seminary grounds also housed wooden structures like stables, a carriage house, and a guest house, which unfortunately no longer stand.
Previously, the residential building received center status for working with gifted children from the Kransoyarsk Pedagogical College No1. The home stretches across approximately 1114 square meters and consists of two aboveground and one underground floor.
The initial projected contract cost for its restoration is 19.9 million rubles. Funding comes from the regional budget, with the college acting as the contractor on behalf of the region.
To move forward, the project requires an expert evaluation, and all work must be completed by June 1, 2026. Once the restoration is finished, the monument will feature architectural lighting.
Remember, the region has ambitious plans to refurbish old mansions and historical buildings in downtown Krasnoyarsk ahead of its 2028 anniversary.
