Outdoor Cinema Nights in Bryant Park Usher in Summer Atmosphere during Screenings

Get ready, movie enthusiasts! Bryant Park in New York City is set to host an exciting lineup of films for its 32nd summer season, with screenings taking place every Monday evening. The lawn opens at 5 p.m., and the films begin at 8 p.m., providing a perfect opportunity for a relaxing summer night under the stars.

The schedule for this year's Movies Nights at Bryant Park is as follows:

- June 9: Pretty in Pink - June 16: The Wood - June 23: Kinky Boots - June 30: Stand by Me - July 7: Good Will Hunting - July 14: Interstellar - July 21: Ghost - July 28: Pulp Fiction - August 4: Blades of Glory - August 11: The Godfather

These screenings are free, open to the public, and presented by Paramount+ on the park's lawn. Audience members are encouraged to bring a blanket for a comfortable viewing experience, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

While waiting for the movie to start, guests can enjoy a variety of activities. Vulture's grid game Cinematrix is available for those seeking a brain-teasing challenge, and free chips and guacamole from Wonder's stand will keep your hunger at bay.

The bar tent opens at 5 p.m., offering summery beverages with special offerings from Stout New York City. Stout has created specialty cocktails for each movie, and on June 30th, the featured drink was a Gordie Spritz, named after Stand By Me's main character, Gordie Lachance.

Stand By Me, the movie screened on June 30th, was Rob Reiner's 1986 film based on Stephen King's novella The Body. The story follows four young boys on a journey to find a dead body in rural Castle Rock, Oregon, where they learn about each other and their families. The film stars Will Wheaton, Jerry O'Connell, River Phoenix, and Corey Feldman.

The summer's lineup includes a variety of movies from Paramount+'s archives, catering to different tastes such as blockbusters, Oscar winners, romantic comedies, and slapstick. The upcoming movies include Good Will Hunting (July 7th), Interstellar (July 14th), Ghost (July 21st), Pulp Fiction (July 28th), Blades Of Glory (August 4th), and The Godfather (August 11th).

Food options before the show are curated by Hester Street Fair, with chocolate-covered strawberries and Japanese sandos available on the Fountain Terrace. Guests are encouraged to line up before 5 p.m. due to a rush of excited moviegoers.

Bryant Park's commitment is to keep the park free, open, and accessible to the public. The park's website and social media pages should be checked for updates before each screening. This season's Movies Nights at Bryant Park are supported by Paramount+, the Hospital for Special Surgery, Wonder, and Vulture.
