Redesigning Art Scene with Guernsey Arts Association
The Jive Aces, the UK's No.1 Jive & Swing band, are set to bring their energetic and lively performances to St Louis in Guernsey on September 20th, 2025.
The band, known for their show-stopping renditions, gained widespread recognition after their appearance on Britain's Got Talent, where they cheered up Simon Cowell with their enchanting version of 'I Wanna Be Like You'. Their most popular music video, 'Bring Me Sunshine', has over 3 million views on YouTube and has won seven film festival awards.
The Jive Aces' performance at St Louis is scheduled for 8pm. To secure your spot, tickets can be registered on Eventbrite.
Before the concert, the Guernsey Retro Festival is organizing free dance classes for Rock n Roll and Swing/Lindyhop at St Louis. Led by Vanessa, Mandy, Richard, Pam, and Susan, these classes are a great opportunity for both beginners and seasoned dancers to brush up on their moves.
The Candie Concerts, a series of free performances organized annually by the Guernsey Street Festival, will continue until September. This weekend, from 3pm to 4pm, the Accidentals will take the stage.
In addition to the Candie Concerts, there are other exciting events happening in Guernsey. The annual Student Exhibition, featuring artworks from students of various schools in Guernsey, is being presented by Guernsey Arts from September 6th to October 5th, 2025, in the George Crossan Gallery within the Inner Market.
The Guernsey Arts Open, an annual showcase of local artistic talent, is now open for submissions from all resident artists of any age and experience. Submissions can be made through an online form.
Meanwhile, at the Priaulx Library, a Magic Lantern Show titled "Sark as it was in Victorian times and the 1930's" will be held on Wednesday the 24th of September. Tickets for this event are available from the library front desk.
