Residents of Yakutsk are eligible to join the photography competition titled "Yakutsk Inspires"
The Yakutsk City Administration, in collaboration with NVK "Sakha", is inviting residents of Yakutsk aged 14 and above to participate in a city-wide photo contest called "Yakutsk Inspires". This contest aims to foster a positive image of Yakutsk, promote its historical and cultural heritage, and reflect the city's social and cultural life through photography.
The contest is being held to celebrate the 392nd anniversary of the city's founding. Participants can submit only one work per category in five different categories: "Historical Yakutsk", "City Life", "City People", "Cityscapes", and "Creative Photo Series".
In the "Cityscapes" category, participants can submit photographs of landmarks (architectural monuments), recognizable locations, and favourite places of residents. The "City Life" category invites submissions of mass events, scenes from the daily life of city residents, and genre photographs. For those with a historical bent, the "Historical Yakutsk" category encourages submissions of historical photographs, archival photos of the city's environment and residents in the 19th-20th centuries.
In the "City People" category, participants can submit individual and group photographs (portraits) of Yakutsk residents. The "Creative Photo Series" category offers a chance to showcase creativity, with participants submitting 5-10 photographs united by the common theme "My Yakutsk" with an original and creative approach to photography.
Applications to participate in the contest and photographs should be submitted by email to [email protected] by September 5. Participants will receive certificates for their participation in the contest. The authors of the best works will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes. The best works from the photo contest "Yakutsk Inspires" will be published on various mass media platforms.
