The Ferragosto Festival Returns to Bronx Little Italy

Get ready to celebrate Italian culture in the heart of New York City! The much-anticipated Ferragosto Festival is set to return to Bronx Little Italy this September.

The Ferragosto Festival is a day-long celebration that honours the Italian holiday of Ferragosto, a traditional harvest festival. This year, the event will take place on Sunday, September 7th, from 12 pm to 6 pm, along Arthur Avenue between East 187th St. & Crescent Ave., continuing along East 186th Street between Arthur and Hughes Avenues.

This annual event is a significant community gathering, reflecting over a century of Arthur Avenue as a hub of Italian-American culture in the Bronx. Visitors can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with authentic Italian food, live music, entertainment, and cultural activities that reflect the rich Italian heritage of the neighbourhood.

The stage for live entertainment will be located on East 186th Street between Arthur Avenue and Hughes Avenue. Last year, the festival featured vendors like Artuso Pastry Shop, Calabria Pork Store, Emilia's Restaurant, Funici A'Pizza, Mario's Restaurant, Pasquale's Rigoletto Restaurant, Randazzo's Seafood, San Gennaro Ristorante, and Vincent's Meat Market.

Parking is available at Fordham University (685 E Fordham Rd) for $10, with a free shuttle to & from the event from 11am-7pm. The festival will proceed rain or shine, so attendees should check the forecast and come prepared with an umbrella or poncho if needed.

Peter Madonia, Chairman of the Belmont Business Improvement District, expressed his excitement about the return of the annual fall and holiday celebrations in Bronx Little Italy.
