Soane Britain & Billy Cotton Blend Art Deco & Nautical Glamour in New Collection
Soane Britain and Billy Cotton have joined forces to create a stunning collection that blends art deco glamour with a nautical feel. The collaboration, which pushed technical boundaries, resulted in 23 fabric and wallpaper designs and 21 furniture and lighting pieces. All products are handmade in the UK by Soane Britain.
Lulu Lytle, founder of Soane Britain, proposed the collaboration with Billy Cotton on a range of lighting, fabrics, and furniture. The American designer, who has worked with Soane Britain on custom pieces in the past, drew inspiration from antique textiles for the patterned fabrics and wallcoverings. His travels to Bavaria for a license agreement further enriched the collection.
Billy Cotton utilised the workshops of Fabric Workshop Berlin and Möbelwerkstatt Martensen in Germany during the collaboration. This allowed him to represent traditional materials and techniques of British working methods. The result is a collection that showcases the best of both British and American design. Key pieces include the 'Collins' table and cabinet, 'Aquinnah' lounge and dining chairs, and 'Palomar' lighting series.
The Soane Britain x Billy Cotton collection is a testament to the power of collaboration and the fusion of different design aesthetics. With its art deco glamour and nautical feel, the collection offers a unique blend of luxury and tradition. Each piece is a standout addition to any interior, reflecting the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail that Soane Britain is known for.
