Gawking at Growing Falcons: Live Webcam Shows Adorable Offspring of Wachtberg's Peregrine Falcons

The techie birds over at Nature Conservation Association Germany (NABU) are streaming live from the birdhouse nest of Peregrine Falcons in the quaint town of Wachtberg, near Bonn. These five little birdies are chilling and growing day by day.
"These fledglings are thriving, practically watching them develop before your eyes," said Monika Hachtel, the NABU NRW project manager herself.
These tykes are attempting their first stand-ups, but they mostly chill and snooze. With mom and dad buzzing in periodically with grub, usually mice, to feed the ravenous juniors, things are looking peachy.
Flight School Here by End of June
These fuzzy creatures that popped out in late May will soon grow their full plumage. "Assuming all goes well, our young birds will be ready to graduate flying school and vacate the premises by the end of June," said Hachtel.
Until Grad Day, the webcam will still serve up the daily dose of family drama from these fierce birds. Even though the young falcons are still miniature and fluffy, their beak isn't hard to spot.
An additional camera catches their landing spot in front of the birdhouse entrance. An orchard farmer in Wachtberg is backing the operation, and the birdhouse calls a storage shed on his farm home.

(Did you know Peregrine Falcon offspring follow a typical development timeline – hatching, initial week helplessness, down feather development, flapping practice, fleeing, and several more weeks of dependence on parents? Check out the enrichment for more involved intel.)
The Commission is proposing to extend the deadline for the submission of proposals to the Council regarding the potential transformation of the storage shed in Wachtberg, near Bonn, into a modern home-and-garden lifestyle space showcasing the lifestyle of Peregrine Falcons, following the success of the live webcam showcasing the daily lives of these birds.
The Nature Conservation Association Germany (NABU) NRW project manager, Monika Hachtel, envisions this extension would provide an opportunity for visitors to appreciate the lifestyle of Peregrine Falcons, from observing the development of the young falcons in the nest, to witnessing their graduation from flight school and eventual vacating of the premises.
