The Home Fund support program is extended due to high demand
The Gerd-Kaimer-Citizen Foundation has announced that applications for the special program "Fonds Heimat 2026" are now open. This program, launched in 2025, aims to provide funding for projects in Solingen city districts that focus on tradition, homeland care, art, and culture.
The program has already received a positive response, with events such as a joint hiking day, a lighting festival, and theater offers already supported. These events have taken place in various districts, including Gräfrath and Ohligs, Solingen-Mitte, and Wald.
The Fonds Heimat 2026 will provide non-profit organisations with a total of 100,000 euros. The current half-yearly application deadline for the Gerd-Kaimer-Citizen Foundation is September 14, 2025, but for the Fonds Heimat 2026, the deadline has been extended to October 31, 2025. It is important to note that this deadline is specific to the Fonds Heimat 2026 and does not apply to other funding areas of the foundation.
To apply for the Fonds Heimat 2026, applicants must first coordinate with their district mayor before submitting their application directly to the Gerd-Kaimer-Bürgerstiftung. The link to submit an application can be found on the foundation's website.
For those who miss the October 31 deadline, there is still a chance to apply, as the foundation continues to accept applications for the Fonds Heimat 2026 in the coming year.
The Gerd-Kaimer-Citizen Foundation encourages all eligible organisations in Solingen to apply for the Fonds Heimat 2026 and contribute to the rich cultural landscape of the city.
