The town of Selbach is set to undergo an exciting transformation, as it revamps a green space adjacent to the "Oldenburger Hof" restaurant into a central meeting point with new leisure and recreation facilities for all age groups.
The Selbach Town Center Park redevelopment, funded by the Ministry for Environment, Climate, Mobility, Agriculture, and Consumer Protection, aims to create a vibrant, multi-use space that caters to all generations with an emphasis on leisure, nature, and community interaction.
At the heart of the project are intergenerational leisure areas. Designed for various age groups, these facilities will include safe, accessible play equipment for young children, interactive features for teens, exercise equipment tailored for older adults to encourage healthy living, and shaded seating areas where families and seniors can relax together.

Three barrier-free, paved paths will be constructed in the plaza, making it accessible for all. A pétanque court and a table tennis table are planned for intergenerational use. The adjacent area of the plaza can host events, while a new seating area near the spring fountain is also in the works.
Minister for Environment, Climate, Mobility, Agriculture, and Consumer Protection Petra Berg and Interior Minister Reinhold Jost have expressed their support for the project, which aims to enhance the town center's appeal for local residents and visitors. The municipality of Nohfelden is receiving a grant of €59,045 from the Ministry of the Interior for this project.
