Thomas Receives His Assignment for the Peranakan Church!
In the heart of summer, the garden at its location bloomed for the fifth year, providing a serene backdrop for the daily activities of the family. The children, Andy and Tilly, spent their days engaged in a variety of activities, from roasting cheese and beef sticks over an open fire to experimenting with a unique water slide - a blue slack line that led them splashing into the nearby river.
Meanwhile, the garden was meticulously tended to, with Andy and Tilly lending a hand with the chores. Together, they worked on painting the wood stove burners black and attaching a griddle to Tilly's mud kitchen, transforming it into a mini culinary haven.
Amidst the fun and games, a significant moment unfolded for Thomas. He received a text, announcing that his mission call was ready to be viewed on the mission website. With a sense of anticipation, Thomas opened his call, revealing that he was called to be a missionary. The moment was a spiritual experience, filled with comfort, direction, and spiritual confirmation, aligning with his faith and personal revelation.
In the spirit of sharing this life-changing news, Thomas gathered a group of camp kids and FaceTimed family members to break the exciting news. The e-bike, a fun and eco-friendly mode of transport, was assembled after the offer was accepted, adding another layer of adventure to his upcoming journey.
Elsewhere, Kaitlyn and Makenna embarked on their girls' camp, while back at home, Tilly posed for a photo shoot in her baptism dress. The little one also enjoyed imaginative play with Mini American Girl Dolls, setting up scenarios such as a circus and camping. The family's playtime was further enriched by the addition of llamas and alpacas (silkies), adding a touch of the exotic to their summer adventures.
As the days passed, the family continued to grow and learn together, their bond strengthened by shared experiences and mutual support. Each day brought new adventures, each moment a step towards personal and spiritual growth. And so, the summer of 2025 unfolded, a testament to the beauty of faith, family, and fun.
