Topic: The Grand Finale at the Funfair Games - Canine Division
The Pasing Arcaden in Munich, Germany, was transformed into a canine wonderland last June, as the shopping centre hosted the grand finale of "Wuff & Wow – Das große Hunde-Event," a two-day celebration of dogs and their special talents.
The highlight of the event was the "Super Dog" contest, where 20 furry competitors showcased their skills and charm in a series of tasks and challenges designed to captivate audiences. From agility courses to tricks and personality demonstrations, the event promised "Wau-Momente" (wow moments) that left spectators in awe.
One of the standout performers was Daisy, a mixed breed who was rescued from a rice field on Bali. Despite her fear of humans due to past abandonment, Daisy bravely participated in the contest, demonstrating the incredible bond between dogs and their owners.
Another inspiring story was that of Resi, a Slovak street dog, who was chosen as the winner of the "Super Dog" competition. As a reward, Resi spent two nights at the 5-star Mignon Meran Park & Spa, a luxurious treat for this deserving pooch.
Kiwi, a mixed breed, took home the second place prize, an eight-week combo course at the Munich dog school "Freude am Hund." Meanwhile, Rajka, a mantrailing dog, received third place and a gift card worth 150 euros from the Pasing Arcades.
The event was not just about competition, but also about celebrating the unique bonds between dogs and their owners. Julia Kauz, the host of the event, introduced the animals and their owners to the audience, while all other dog owners received a small surprise from Hundemaxx, Germany's largest specialty store for dog supplies.
In addition to the contest, the Paseo of the Pasing Arcaden was filled with activities for both dogs and their owners. DIY & Drinks workshops allowed guests to design dog bandanas or paint and decorate treat bags with patches. There was also a chill-out area with loungers, sun umbrellas, water bottles, and dog poop bags.
The event featured a variety of entertainment, including free popcorn and performances by Clown Bobby. Some passersby stopped to watch the "Super Dog" event, and many viewers came specifically for the show. The shopping mall even had special dog places with water bowls.
One of the most heartwarming stories to emerge from the event was that of Emma, a Cavapoo, who was trained as a diabetes alert dog. Emma can detect changes in her owner's blood sugar levels, providing a life-saving service for her family.
The "Super Dog" action was launched at the Pasing Arcaden, with nearly 400 animals registered. The event was a resounding success, with Centre manager Philipp Avramov and marketing manager Carina Schier looking back on a beautiful family event that brought together dogs and their owners in a festive environment.
At the Pasing Arcaden, the shopping mall also offered home-and-garden activities for dog owners, such as DIY & Drinks workshops to design dog bandanas or paint treat bags. Additionally, pet owners could participate in a lifestyle event focused on their furry friends, with the grand finale being the "Super Dog" contest.
