In the heart of Brunswick, a beloved bakery has returned to its roots, marking a new chapter in the city's culinary history. After decades of operation, the traditional bakery Mechau closed its doors this summer, but fear not, as it has been replaced by the popular Bakery Kretzschmar.

For over a century, Bakery Kretzschmar has been a staple in Germany, and now, it's making a comeback in Brunswick. The bakery, which celebrated its 135th anniversary this year, has a rich history and is currently in its sixth generation.

Stefan Kretzschmar, the owner of Bakery Kretzschmar, has found a new tenant for two of his three branches. He is particularly proud of the classic ice cream flavours, as well as creations like Limoncello ice cream or vegan fruit ice cream. The new bakery in Brunswick's city centre has undergone an optical facelift, including new lighting and a cozy makeover.

The reopening of Bakery Kretzschmar in Dürerstraße, Brunswick, took place on the 5th of July. The new bakery, which had been in operation for 130 years, has reopened faster than expected. Seating is available for customers, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely breakfast or lunch.

The closure of the bakery Mechau is no reason to be sad, as a new bakery has taken its place. According to News38, the new bakery is a popular successor, with Stefan Kretzschmar drawing a positive first balance, stating that everything is running with great success and the customers are mostly satisfied.

The range at the reopened bakery includes some bestsellers from Bakery Mechau, as well as Bakery Kretzschmar's own proven range. The bakery offers Siebtrager coffee and homemade ice cream, ensuring a delightful experience for all customers.

The second branch in the Schunterstraße is expected to open before the earliest after the summer holidays. For those interested in the latest updates on the bakery's changes, schedule, or menu, local news, the bakery’s official website, or social media pages would be the best sources to check.

As the new bakery settles into its new home, it's clear that it will continue to be a beloved part of the Brunswick community, offering delicious baked goods and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The reopened Bakery Kretzschmar in Brunswick not only caters to the city's culinary lifestyle but also integrates home-and-garden elements with its cozy makeover.
